I have worked for the BIG one Quest... I have worked for the small ones and now I work for LabCorp. In my 13 years in the lab business and having used them when I worked for a private practice, I must say that LabCorp is the BEST. Every large company has its faults... trust me when I say this.. Quest has a LOT of faults. #1 patients are truly a number. #2 When I worked for Quest ( a period of 1 long year) we lost on average of 2 specimens a day. How I know that is because I was a processing supervisor for them. #3 The management is so cold and robotic that the employees to are just a number and is very replaceable just as there patients. I have been with LabCorp for over a year now as an account manager so I see where there can be improvements. #1 Logistics (even though we are the 5th largest in the nation... we do pretty good :)) #2 Management that is why the company has restructured. I do know that I am not a number and every patient is a person and our actions have such a great impact on peoples lives. I also know that LabCorp is hiring even when other companies are cutting full time employees to part time and laying off as well. I am so proud to be a part of a company that invests so much into technology to help people and their lives. I am also part of a company that developed DNA testing. As you may know the BIG one has been reporting false Vitamin D levels for quite some time now..... you should not point your finger so quickly unless you have been on both sides of the fence. I will end with this.... No one company or person is perfect and that's why we will never stop trying.
